Ed Stein: Lots of News + Freeway Faceoff Tonight

So far so good today at staples - Eaves looks good out there -adds a dimension of skill and speed that is nice - goal was just awesome display of tick tack toe - between the best overall line in hockey -
Sucks for AV and the Ducks but hey the rule is black and white - and frankly if I was ref or linesman and the decreased it I would be bent -

I'm not going to sugar coat it, the scoring hasn't been where it needs to be. A grade A opportunity means zilch. Not scoring doesn't do anything to help the team. No one can score for you, and these goalies aren't going to make your life any easier. Here are some interesting stats:

They're 18th in Team Shooting Percentage @ 8.81%
They're 25th in Even Strength Team Goal Percentage @ 72.3%
They're 6th in Power Play Team Goal Percentage @ 23.3%

They've been cold on the power play since the long roadie, and the stats above prove why they've been struggling to win hockey games. It just irks me that this group is doing everything right, but getting the job done when it matters most.

Patrick Eaves could be a catalyst for this group. He was consistently finding open areas, making his stick available and hammering it towards the net. There was a time when it seemed like he was the only one who was taking the ice with a mindset of, I need to score. Eaves is a superb addition, but it'll be a big time missed opportunity that'll fall on the rest of the team if they don't find a way to beat these goaltenders.

I didn't get to watch the game because it started to early but I did hear about the usual cheap shots by the new Nucks Perry and Kesler and how our man Quick willed our team back in the 3rd for a great victory. So, an intellectual analyaia I cannot give..

Go ahead and root for your team, and against your rival. But bringing homophobic slurs in here will not be tolerated. Go ahead and say it to your friends. No one's stopping you. But it's not going to fly here.

Wow if Silf doesn't miss on that wide open net on the PP - that buries the Kings I don't know if they come back - and come on JB a weak centering pass from the corner and you and Cam play hot rocks with it and they tie the game - man that just can't happen - and the refs gift the kings an early whistle on another for sure goal when jq clearly had no idea where the puck was - all in all the kings caught far more of the breaks just as the Ducks did against the B's the other night - A week off JG gets healthy- Eaves gets acclimated to his new teammates and perhaps another deal - let the stretch run begin -

Perry's more like a jester. But whatever gets your passion up is fine. And lots of players will never win a Cup. The guy is a great hockey player.
